Singaporeans must develop spirit of taking care of one another: Chan Chun Sing: 8 Sep 2013

BUKIT BATOK: Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing said on Sunday the challenge for the nation is to find a way to have consensus on the various policy initiatives which the government has outlined.

Mr Chan said one way to achieve this is for Singaporeans to develop the spirit of taking care of one another.

He said this at a dialogue session as part of his ministerial community visit to the Bukit Batok Division.

a) Tell us a little about yourself.

I am 45 of age working in the civil service sector. I started joining grassroots activities when I was 30 years old and was introduced into Bukit Batok (BB) Zone 8 RC by then chairman, Steven. I have served about 10 years till now, from being an ordinary member to the Chairman of Zone 9 RC in year 2010.

b) What are you passionate about in life?

Residents in Bukit Batok who face chronic problems will soon get financial help. Residents who could benefit from the programme are mainly those who are facing financial difficulties and have physical disabilities: 27 Aug 2013

BUKIT BATOK: Residents in Bukit Batok who face chronic problems will soon get financial help.

One million dollars has been set aside to help such residents under a new programme launched on Tuesday by the Bukit Batok Citizens' Consultative's Community Development & Welfare Fund.

The launch comes ahead of a ministerial community visit on 8 September by Acting Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing.
